Cadsoft offer a freeware, limited scope
Schematic capture, PCB layout package, with autorouting capabilities for
both MsLoss and Linux.
Xcircuit is a schematic capture
package. Pay particular attention to their page on
how to draw
decent circuit diagrams.
Personally, I use m4 macros for my schematics and
PCB for PCB's.
